Your Gift Keeps
Families Housed
Threshold Housing is funded by the Province of Nova Scotia, federal programs, foundations, and the generosity of individuals like you. Every donation — of any size — goes directly to keeping people in their homes and helping them find stability.
Choose How You Give
One-time gifts and monthly giving are both deeply valued. Monthly donors provide the predictable revenue that helps us plan and expand our programs.
Covers one day of housing navigation support — helping someone work through a rental application, gather references, or understand their rights as a tenant.
Give $50Covers roughly 15% of a rent bank grant for a family facing eviction — the difference between a child changing schools and staying in their neighbourhood.
Give $150Covers nearly half a full rent bank grant. On its own, $500 in timely assistance has prevented an eviction for hundreds of the households we serve.
Give $500Funds a full rent bank grant for one household, keeping a family in their home, preserving their school connections, employment, and community roots.
Give $1,000What Your Gift Does
Every dollar we receive is directed to programs that keep people housed. Here is how four gift amounts translate into direct action in Halifax-Dartmouth.
Covers intake support
Staff time to conduct a full needs assessment and service match for one individual or family reaching out in a housing crisis.
Funds navigation services
One week of housing search assistance for a client — preparing applications, sourcing listings, writing references, and advocating with landlords.
Prevents an eviction
Covers nearly half a typical rent bank grant, bridging the gap between financial hardship and housing security for a family in our community.
Funds a full rent bank grant
Covers a complete rent bank intervention — rent arrears paid, eviction stopped, family stabilized, and a follow-up plan in place.
Leave a Lasting Legacy
A bequest, charitable gift annuity, or life insurance policy directed to Threshold Housing Society is one of the most meaningful gifts a donor can make. Legacy gifts help us plan for the future and continue our work for generations to come. All planned gift conversations are handled with complete confidentiality.
