Every peer supporter is paid for every session, and nobody who comes pays anything. Grants and gifts from people in Guelph-Wellington cover it.

Become a peer supporter
We train new peer supporters each spring and fall, with 40 hours of paid training before your first session. To apply, you need to have been through mental health challenges yourself, or alongside a family member, and to be able to commit to regular sessions for at least a year.

Partner with us
Bring Steady Ground programs into your workplace, housing project, community organization, or settlement service. We can run Peer Support Circles, Wellness Workshops, or navigation support in your space, or help train your own team in peer support. There is no cost to community organizations with limited budgets.

Monthly giving lets us plan
Project grants end, and one-time gifts are hard to predict. Monthly giving is the steady part of our budget, and it lets us make commitments:
- Stable salaries for staff. Our team can commit to this work because they know we can pay them reliably.
- Training new peer supporters. Paid training cycles happen twice a year and need reliable funding to run.
- Keeping programs free. Nobody pays to take part, so the costs have to be covered from somewhere. Monthly donors make that possible.
- Planning ahead. New groups, new locations, and new programs all need predictable revenue.

Peer supporter time includes training stipends, session payments, and ongoing supervision. Program costs include space rental, materials, and technology. Administration covers staffing, operations, and compliance.
