Ways to Help

Three Ways to Support Steady Ground

Whether you want to give financially, give your time, or bring our programs into your community — there's a meaningful way to be part of this work.

Become a Peer Supporter

We train new peer supporters each spring and fall. You'll receive 40 hours of paid training before your first session — covering active listening, boundaries, trauma-informed practice, and the peer support evidence base.

Applicants must have lived mental health experience (your own or a close family member's) and the capacity to commit to regular sessions for at least one year.

Why Monthly Matters

Monthly Giving Changes What We Can Plan

Project grants come and go. Individual one-time donations are wonderful but unpredictable. Monthly giving is different — it's the foundation that lets us make commitments.

  • Stable salaries for staff. Our team can commit to this work because they know we can pay them reliably.

  • Training new peer supporters. Paid training cycles happen twice a year and require reliable funding to run.

  • Keeping programs free. No fees means we need to cover costs from elsewhere. Monthly donors make that possible.

  • Planning ahead. New groups, new locations, new programs — all require the confidence that comes from predictable revenue.

What Your Gift Funds

We believe donors deserve to know exactly how their money is used. Here's a rough breakdown of how we allocate funding:

Peer supporter time
60%
Program costs
25%
Administration
15%

Peer supporter time includes training stipends, session payments, and ongoing supervision. Program costs include space rental, materials, and technology. Administration covers staffing, operations, and compliance.
